If you’re looking to submit a guest post article for our website, please READ our requirements.
We’re currently accepting how-to articles, tutorials, photo galleries and videos pertaining to:
- Home improvement articles and DIY tutorials
- Residential interior & exterior design
- Landscape & Design
- Decks & Patios
- Outdoor Structures
We really love how-to articles as those found on hometalk(.)com – lengthy eye catching tutorials, or like the ones we create on home repair
If you’re submitting a DIY project or job you have previously done for a client, please submit the full project details, including all photos, project costs and estimated time of completion for our readers to learn from. Furthermore, please ensure you own or have copyright permission to publish the images — the more images, the better…
How Not to waste your time..
Please do not pitch or submit us general topics ideas. Instead, focus on a very specific topic so that you can cover it in-depth.
For example, don’t submit a “top 10 Bathroom design tips” article. That’s far too broad. Instead, submit an article all about Bathroom vanities. The more specific and detailed, the better.
About our site
We hover around 1,000,000 monthly page views and growing. We have a growing Facebook fan page of 40k fans and 20k email subscribers. Your article will get cross promoted on all platforms as we promote all content.
What should your article length be?
At the very minimum, your article should be 800 words, however, in our experience, in order to adequately cover topics related to home and garden, you should aim for 1,200 to 3,000 words of content.
Images — Please try to include as many images as possible to deliver a clear message. We don’t have an exact number in mind, however, shoot for an image every 250-350 words of content to help paint a picture for the reader.
Quality is extremely important to us
We reject far more articles than we approve for publishing. If you’re taking the time to read all of this, please ensure the quality of your article is written on an expert level and grammatically free of errors. Your article needs to be the best piece of content out there for the topic you have chosen — If we feel your article is missing something, we might end up rejecting the article, so please take this seriously.
How to format your article for submission:
Please use proper heading tags such as h2, h3, etc. The first heading should be h1. The sub-heading h2, h3 and so on. The next main heading should be h2 again.
Whenever it makes sense, please use bullet lists.
2. References and outbound links
Try to reinforce the article with solid outbound links to other pieces of content on the web that you feel would be helpful to our readers — these are DOFOLLOW links.
Your article must be informational; not promotional. We’re fine with one dofollow link to your site in the content, but the article itself must be informational.
If you’d like to submit a promotional article (i.e. sponsored post), Please contact us.
4. Author bio and attribution
Any dofollow link will only be approved if it makes sense and if it enhances the quality of the article — please don’t try to force an outbound link.
5. Link to internal pages on Remodelingexpense.com
Please take the time to reference some of our pages where it makes sense.
6. Video inclusion:
If you happen to find or know of some good quality videos that will improve the quality of your article, please include the YouTube link.
7. Submission format:

When you pitch us, please provide a list of 3 to 5 article ideas. If we like one, we’ll approve it. If we reject your topic suggestions and have time, we may suggest a few ideas to you.
9. Article Rejection
