- Gutter Guards: These can be a life-saver if you have a lot of trees on your property, especially oak trees. They work extremely well and from personal experience, I wouldn’t install another gutter on my home without them. Expect to pay $3 to $5 per linear ft for copper gutter guards.
- Downspout Screens: It’s recommended to have downspout screens installed in the main gutter as well as the base of the downspout. Not only does this prevent debris from running down your spout and clogging up, it redirects the debris and also keeps critters such as mice from climbing up your downspout. Expect to pay $5 each.
- Splash Guards: These are a nice addition to your downspouts as they also help divert water away from your home – without them, you can cause impressions in your soil from excessive water flow. Expect to pay $15 to $30 each.
- Heat Tape: For regions that have temps fall below freezing, heating tape will help resolve the ice damning issues many of us face in the winter time. Expect to pay $50 per 100′ of heating tape.
Copper Gutter – Pricing and Installation Cost Checklist
- Get at least 3-5 estimates before hiring a Copper Gutter contractor — estimates are typically free, unless it’s a service call for a repair.
- Expect the Copper Gutter prices to fluctuate between various companies – each and every company have different operation expenses and over-head.
- Expect to pay more for 20 to 30% more for each additional floor above a standard one-story home. The need for additional safety and ladder equipment will be the driving factor.
- Removal of existing gutters will cost you $0.90 per linear foot.
- Try to get prices in late Fall, early winter – you should expect aggressive pricing discounts by waiting for a contractor’s down season.
- Try to budget and additional 7-15% more on top of what our calculator gives out – I.e; difficult configurations, patterns, bump-outs, radius’s etc. The additional complexity of your gutter-line will add to the Copper Gutter costs.
- Visit every supply house (Home depot, Lowes, Menards) that sell your particular brand of Copper Gutters and try to negotiate a better price with each supplier – I save on average 10-20%.
- Before having new Copper Gutter’s installed onto your home, be sure to check to see whether or not your need to replace your roof. If your roof is in bad shape, or close to it, have your new Copper Gutter’s installed after a new roof install so your gutter’s don’t get banged up.
- Cost can add up quickly, especially if you’re a novice and have never attempted a Copper Gutter installation before. I would strongly recommend you hire a licensed and Insured Copper Gutter contractor to perform the installation for you.
- Be sure to have a copy of the Copper Gutter Manufacturer’s recommended installation requirements before starting, to make sure your project doesn’t end up costing you more money in the long-run.
- Remember, there are multiple styled homes in the U.S – from: Contemporary, colonial, cape-cod style, ranch, bungalow, victorian, etc. So keep that in mind and try to budget a little more, before starting your Copper Gutter project.
